Ramblers

Horton Ramblers

Horton Ramblers are an informal group who meet once per month for a walk around the local countryside. The walks last between 2 and 4 hours and are suitable for all ages and abilities. The walks normally will  be on the third Sunday.

All walkers make a donation of £2.00 (not including breakfast) and whoever leads the route, donates the money to a charity of their choice.

Walks start as advertised via email to regular ramblers or on this web site.

We pride ourselves on our ability to finish most walks with the same number of ramblers as we started and have a very low injury rate. Each ramble is usually organised by a different member of the group so be prepared to organise a walk some time in the future.

Our next walk 16th November

Here are the details of the November Walk. I have chosen it as the route is mainly on hard surfaces and should be ok regardless of the weather.

The walk is approximately 5 miles long and is flat and mud free. No stiles.

Meet at Peasemarsh (what3words – taxed.labels.gravel) where on road parking is available.

The walk follows the National Cycle Route (old railway line) to Chard Resevoir and Nature Reserve.

After walking around the resevoir  we will retrace our footsteps back to Peasemarsh.

Suggested venue for a well earned drink is the Five Dials at Horton.

Phone number 01460 55359 should anyone wish to book lunch.

Meet as usual by 10.20 for a 10.30 start.
