Situated alongside the Market Square, Ilminster in the Phoenix Studios of Alice Temperley, is a little gem of a café created and run by Simon & Tanya.
The café has been styled with a Mad Hatter’s tea party theme in mind and serves a variety of fine coffee, teas, shakes, sodas, fresh pastries & snacks.
Alongside the Wonderland theme, the name Fou also brings back memories for Simon of working alongside his brothers in a restaurant called Fou in London.
Simon has been a chef since the 1990s, with both his younger brothers currently working as chefs, his grandfather working as a chef in the army and his daughter is a fine pastry chef, so this is as much a family passion as it is a unique small business.
Organic fair-trade Italian roasted Honduran coffee, Belgian chocolate GF brownies, honey madeleines, authentic Portuguese pastel de nata pastries and classic French snacks. Somerset cheese scones are freshly made each day. Café Fou is determined to use local English produce and family companies at every possible opportunity.
